The Emergency Department sees more than 29,000 visits each year and operates a full complement of emergency medicine faculty 24 hours a day. Specialists in emergency medicine, and nurses expert in emergency nursing, meet patients coming to the emergency department. The staff have completed rigorous training and passed specialty certification examinations to provide emergency care. We are ready to handle any emergency from a simple cut to life-threatening injuries.

 

Level II Trauma Center
As a Level II trauma center, supported by Cleveland Clinic neurosurgeons (on-call 24 hours a day), Huron Hospital is equipped to treat the most severe injuries.

 

 

 

ThruCare
Fast, urgent care for minor scrapes and injuries. Access to ThruCare is available through the emergency department seven days a week from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sexual Assault Program
Sexually related violence has a significant impact on the physical and psychological health of  hundreds of Americans every year and  it is essential that victims of this type of crime receive compassionate and comprehensive medical care.  Huron Hospital is proud to announce the development of a Sexual Assault Program that has been designed to meet the needs of these victims in our surrounding communities. A Sexual Assault program addresses the medical and emotional needs of the Sexual Assault Survivor while collecting invaluable evidence needed for the criminal justice system.  Specially trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners are on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week to examine and provide support for victims of these types of crimes.  For any questions regarding this program, please do not hesitate to contact the Emergency Department at 216-761-4242.
