Scheduling an Appointment

Please schedule return appointments after your exam or treatment. If you must phone for an appointment, call 216-761-3502 between 9-11 a.m. or 2-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. While we try to comply with all reasonable requests for urgent visits, appointments are necessary.

Clinical Studies

Due to the enormous progress in cancer research, there are now a variety of cancer research protocols that may be an option for you. National studies through the National Cancer Institute provide you with the most advanced and promising cancer treatments. Ask your oncologists to tell you about all your treatment possibilities, as well as clinical trials that are being conducted for your type of cancer.

Chemotherapy

During the time you are receiving your chemotherapy you will have blood drawn before each treatment. Before you can begin your treatment, you will have to wait for lab results and for your medicine to be prepared. Time varies depending on the activity of the unit. We suggest you bring reading material or feel free to use our activity carts. Our staff excels in education and teaching, so feel free to ask any questions or express any concerns you may have.

Test Results

The staff at the Huron Cancer Care Center realizes that you may be anxious about your test results. We have therefore designated a special time each day for you to call. Please call between 9-11 a.m. or 2-4 p.m., Monday through Friday for your results. If your results require further explanation, you may be requested to speak with your physician either on the phone or in person.

Billing Concerns

Many insurance companies require precertification before exams, tests and treatments. You need to make us aware of any precertification requirements by your insurance company.

During the course of your treatment you will be receiving bills from the hospital as well as your doctor. If you have any questions or concerns about your hospital bill you can call our Health System Business Office at 216-636-8500.
